For 40 years, the Szabó Family's everyday life has been about accommodation and catering services. Their story began in 1984, when they took over the operation of the thermal baths on the banks of the Tisza. As the years passed, the operators became owners and a whole series of improvements began.
As a first major milestone, all pools have left the retro character from the days of the collectivization era and the modern waveless pool has taken over. And with the arrival of more pools and family-friendly services, the mid-2000s saw another major investment: 13 modern apartment buildings were built in the area of the campsite, which had been the only accommodation until then. And from this point there was no stopping! in 2011, the indoor spa was extended with a sauna, spa and wellness area, in 2014 a 50-room hotel was built, and in 2017 12 Natura Apartments were added to the accommodation range.
The mission of the Szabó family has always been and will always be to provide a high standard of service and a cosy, homely environment, as the past 40 years have proven.

Barack Resort - Then and now
It's a strange, tingling feeling to look back to the beginning. It's as if something seems incredibly distant, yet incredibly fresh, because all the memories are as vivid as if they were just now. We are not the only ones who feel this way, we have many guests who come back year after year.
In 40 years, generations have grown up before our eyes. Many of our regulars were children when they first came to our facility, and now they bring their own children on holiday. Here love and lifelong friendships were formed. This way, we are a little bit part of our guests' lives, which is a really heartwarming feeling.
The Szabó Family, who used to run the spa, also lived here, and our current managers, Éva and Attila, were running around here as children, so to speak, they grew up in the business.
After more than four decades, the place is almost unrecognisable. The spa, which consisted of a few pools, has now been expanded with many pools and modern services, and the Szabó Family has built a small empire around it. One idea followed another, and ideas were followed by action. The result is the versatile complex that has been known as Barack Thermal Resort since 2019.
